My Survivalism.

"You wait your turn, you'll be left in line. This is the beginning. Get out the way 'cause I'm getting mine. This is the beginning."-Trent Reznor

Nothing but fantastic news today!

So, the CW released it's fall schedule early this year and I can sleep VERY soundly tonight. Smallville and
Supernatural will both be returning in September.

Supernatural has been saved AGAIN!

It came close to cancellation for the third time this passed winter but as usual, The Winchester (That's the coolest last name I've ever heard, I swear!) boys have pulled through once again. It's incredible!

And to even think they would actually be cancelled?! I must've been seriously drunk or something!

So, yeah. Smallville, Supernatural and of course, the new fan-favorite, Reaper are all going to make their ways back to the small screen next fall.

As for those favorites of mine and others from Fox, "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" will be back next fall, sometime in October.

Of course, the phenomonal great, "Heroes" will be back sometime for a new season in September. But the ending episodes to this season will air in May.

On another note, I finished Stan Lee's autobigraphy, "Excelsior!" and....it was not for children.

One night stands, Trashing offices, Messing around with a married woman, fighting with Jack Kirby, etc.  And without giving away too much, It looks like Stan "The Man" was quite the Playboy in his youth.

I was and wasn't as surpised to learn all of this stuff (Stripperella comes to mind....) but by the time I was done I did feel like I'd been through quite a journey.

I learned quite a bit though. Like how he was raised only three blocks away from where I live, He went to high school down the street from my home, He met Jack Kirby for the first time in the 149th street train station in (Of course) the Bronx.

But unfortunatley, there's a very tragic side to his life. Growing up during the depression, Living in then-Hell's Kitchen for the first five years of his life, Some of his friends dying during World War II and dealing with one of his twins dying at birth all played a big part in the person he became and of course, his characters.

Examples

Gwen Stacy is based on his wife, Joanie.

Mary Jane Watson is based on the first girl he ever slept with.

Peter Parker's money problems, girl problems and huge reponsobilities were all based on Stan Lee's own problems from his youth.

Matt Murdock's growing up in Hell's Kitchen was appearantly based on his own time living there before moving to the Bronx.

He created Harry Osborn after his buddy, Bob Kane.

And lastly, He named Reed Richards "Mr. Fantastic" because it was his nick-name from high school.

All in all, it was a great book to read. It's actually the only book that's ever made me feel as if I was moving along with the times he was going through.

"Excelsior!" was fantastic but it wasn't as great as "Killing Bono". That book was fucking awesome! Even for people whom aren't the biggest U2 fans would enjoy it.

Now, moving on to the last and final subject: NIN's new album, Ghosts I-IV.

I listened to five of the new thirty six tracks yesterday and it's not Reznor's usual work but it's still pure fucking brilliance. I mean, it's litterally beyond words to exspress the musical genius that NIN has put into this new album. It's utterly remarkable. Now, all we have to do is wait until later this year when the new band begins touring! Of course, I can't wait!

Until next time, see you when I see you!
