"It's such a perfect day."-Chris Martin
I'm so proud of my generation for once. And to my surprise, I'm even prouder of my country. We've entered a new chapter in not just our nation's history, but also, our world's history.
Barack Obama's victory last night was something special for me. For two centuries, my ancestors and elder generations have been fighting for this one moment in history. It's an amazing feeling for me to know that I'm the first generation of the 21st century, where our country not only has turned a new page but has also broken down the biggest barrier which had plagued our past since it's beginnings.
I'm so very, very proud of this nation today. Very proud.
I'm still trying to wrap my head over the excitement that I've found myself in. I haven't had a second of sleep in over a day now and I'm just too ecstatic to really calm myself down.
As a black man, I'm proud of my country. As a young man, I'm proud of my country. As a citizen, I'm proud of my country.
It's too amazing for me to think about the possibilities that we've found ourselve's in because the possibilities are limitless now. This is the stepping stone that I, like millions of others my age or near it, will be able to tell their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren about.
It sounds so electrifying: At eleven o'clock on November 4th 2008, a country moved forward and left it's stained past behind.
In a sense, we're in 1778 again. A revolution has taken place and we've elected a leader who is not only an idealist but also the first of his kind. This is the start of something new.
This is the beginning of a new era.
