666.

"Satan’s successes are the greatest when he appears with the name of God on his lips." - Mahatma Gandhi

This is blog post #666. I'd read more into it, but because I have the good common sense to know what century I'm living in, I won't. But rather, I'm going to elaborate on other people's ridiculousness.

The reason why I don't believe in God, or the Devil, or Angels, or Demons, or Prophets, or Talking Snakes, or that Jesus Christ was the son of a deity in the sky, or that the Virgin Mary (If she ever even existed) was actually a virgin, or that David (Future KING David, that is) took down a fifteen foot giant named Goliath and then decapitated him, is for this simple reason right here: Common Sense.

It occurred to me when I was thirteen years old as I read the greatest work of fiction in history: The New Testament, that there was a heavy difference between what's written on the page, and the actual knowledge that I had in my head. For me, it was my childhood obsession with Dinosaurs.

It occurred to me that while we have actual PROOF that Dinosaurs existed, and that mankind is the result of an actual evolutionary process that took billions of years for nature to achieve, that the religion which my father shoved down my throat as a kid (by making me read, both, the New and Old Testaments before I was the age of ten) didn't mention either the existence of prehistoric life or evolution. Obviously, it didn't take too long for me to figure out which side was full of shit.

And like Alice and that damn Rabbit Hole, I kept falling into more and more proof and fact of religion's falsehood (Christianity, in particular) that by the time I entered the first day of High School, I was already a full-fledged atheist (just another word for being ahead of my time).

And in the case of other people: I've come to find that most of them, especially religious and spiritual people alike - are for the most part, hypocritical bastards. That was a lesson I learned very quickly, as the picture of society was drawn better and better for me every single day since I enlightened my mind with my Dinosaur theory.

I can't count how many times the double-standard was used against me in High School and at Home, causing me to have a disdain for both. One particular time; it was when a teacher was preaching her Buddhist philosophies is class, and much to my unapprieciation of her attempted conformation, I brought up the fact that there were laws that separated Church and State in our country.... but do you think she adhered to the rules which she supposedly was supposed to uphold as a city employee?

NO! Of course she didn't. And the reason why was/is this: Religious people don't want to hear it when you challenge their beliefs.

Basically, they love to give but not receive (and I don't mean that in a good way). What I actually mean, is that they love to preach their fictional bullshit, but don't want you to preach your beliefs.

And that's not right: Because the same freedom that gives them the right to practice their crap, is the same freedom that they try to strip away from others.

But once again, a person who was born and raised into the religious side of thinking would stop at nothing to shut people like myself up.

My good friend Jason, for example: He's always calling ME close-minded, but at the same time he doesn't practice what he preaches by trying to open his mind up to my side of things. And from that, I see him as being the close-minded one. It's never-ending, but it's the fucking truth.

And another thing against his argument is this: I'm the one saying that religion is full of shit, opposed to his old testament beliefs - the more popular side of things. To me: Wouldn't close-minded stem towards me being stuck in a mentality such as his - where a God and Devil are the ones to blame for all of humanity's problems, opposed to my actual new-age beliefs?

If you ask me, he's so close-minded, in fact, that he can't even see it. And to set the record straight: I didn't appreciate him calling me "close-minded" at all, especially when he's oblivious to his own hypocrisy.

And it's been relationships like that one, which I've had to deal with for days upon days and years upon years. Some days, I don't know how I've managed to make it this far with nearly the entire world against me like that. But in the end, I've pushed through.

In conclusion, I honestly feel as if the horrible world we're living in will always be the same until we all enter a era where religion doesn't play a part in society.

My most favorite TV series of all time, Supernatural, deals with the themes of Christian Mythology (and how it's just a measure to control the masses), Urban Legends, and many other things of the extraordinary. And that's exactly where I think religion should stay: In fiction.

Because, and as history would show - no matter what your beliefs are: Religion begins more trouble that it actually solves.... like nuclear warfare. And it's sad, because people are so blind to the world around them. If only they could see what I see, maybe things would change.

But before I close this post, let me ask you this:

If all of the events in the Bible happened five thousand years ago and beyond, why is it that they were only "conveniently" documented two thousand years ago?

(Smells like bullshit....)
