Thoughts Vol. 148

"Things like racism are institutionalized; it's systemic. You might not know any bigots or you might feel like "well, I don't hate black people therefore I'm not a racist" - but you benefit from racism. Just by the merit of the color of your skin: There's oppotunities that you have that others don't, you're privileged in ways you might not even realize because you haven't been deprived of certain things. Americans need to talk about these things in order for them to change." - Dave Chappelle


I keep trying to express that point but no one will listen to me.
