Snap.

"Pretty patterns on the floor. That's enough for you, but I still need more, more, more...." - Trent Reznor

Broke my right ankle yesterday evening as I was exiting the movie theatre. I went to see "End of Watch".... pretty good film, in my opinion. I think this is the most serious injury I've ever had; it makes the top three, for sure.

This whole ordeal has me confronting my own mortality. Unlike the superhuman I'd like to think I am sometimes, I've come to witness that I'm merely a fragile human being who's made up of soft flesh and crackable bone. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph: This ankle hurts like all Hell.

It happened as I was walking down the stairs and I thought that my foot had landed on the last step when, in actuality, it hadn't - and my foot fell farther until t reached the base landing and it twisted until I heard the intimidating "crack" that was my ankle. A sharp pain ran all the way up my right leg and it went to my brain. The pain had literally clouded my mind. So much so, that I had to lean against the wall and even sit for a few moments until I could muster enough gall to walk - or limp, rather - out of the theatre. Every step felt like Hell.... but I did it. Made it home an hour later, which was weird since my grandparent's house is only a few blocks away.

Here's to hoping it gets better soon.
