Racdar.

"If white people were serious about true reform, there would be no need to continuously pass laws." - Malcolm X

As black people, we grow to recognize racism and prejudice very, very quickly to the point where it becomes almost like a radar-sense. The downside of this skill is that our counterparts are slow on the uptake when it comes to the racial dilemma in this country.

It's been my overwhelming experience that you're probably dealing with a racist when they bring up Dr. King - usually in an attempt to w...in over an argument by using reverse psychology. They use Dr. King as a tool of combat and I don't like it. Same thing when it comes to Obama: Particularly conservative whites, in this case, love to make the argume that America isn't racist today because we elected a black president (after two hundred-plus years, mind you). What they fail to put into context, though, is that white folks have had forty-two white presidents while we're expected to be content with our single electoral victor.

Of course, the tricks employed by these types of people never work on me, but then again, I'm ME. I'm not naive, like most people are in this country, to the true ways of daily operation and execution by the powers that be.
