"Evil persists because good people allow it to survive." - T.H. White
I'm not a naive person. In a lot of ways, I think that I've proven myself to be more instinctive than what most people could lay claim to for themselves.
With that said, I believe in Barack Obama. And unlike many of his so-called fickle "supporters" who blow with the wind when times get hard, my belief in him is not one that's ever been tested by Republican obstructionism, Tea Party racism, or Bi...rther innuendo. Neither has my faith in the man ever been questioned in my own conscience. Sure, he's not a perfect man, but who ever said that he was supposed to be?
Yes, I'm voting for him bright and early come November 6th, and not solely because he's a more lucrative candidate in terms of Domestic Economics for the struggling working-class poor of America, or because he's proven himself to be an effective protector of our interests in terms of Foreign Policy, or because he’s never embraced radical ideologies just to politically benefit himself - unlike his opposition - but most vitally because he symbolizes an unwavering strength of positive consistency in the face of immense ruthlessness and chaos, the way that a shooting star would in the dark midst of the great unknown of Space.
As a young Senator from Chicago, Illinois, Barack Obama promised a nation in dire need of a hero the notions of “hope” and “change,” and as a President, he’s done his best to deliver on that promise. He never gave up on the people who elected him and I, for one, will not give up on him or his historic journey after all of the passion and determination from people of all walks of life and beliefs once uplifted the entire world to unforeseen heights merely four years ago.
Conservatives have embraced and used the hatred and bigotry of our past to obstruct the promise of what could be an amazingly bright future for all of us. So, do what you can and vote in this upcoming election. Don’t allow Mitt Romney and the GOP to dim the lights on that potential future on November 6th. The power is in your hands.
