I didn't like that Bruce let person after person after person get the drop on him in "The Dark Knight Rises," but the genius of that flaw is that he's older, more laxed, less paranoid, and rusty by the way of semi-retirement in the story. Great tales don't give their characters a pass: Dean Winchester couldn't break his contract, Luke Skywalker couldn't take on Vader the first time, and Bruce Wayne let his apathy get the best of him.
