Film Review: "Star Trek: Into Darkness"

"....to go where no man has gone before."

Outside of J.J. Abrams' rebooted film series and "The Next Generation," I'm not much of a "Star Trek" fan actually. Not for any particular reason. I mean, I know the lore and the ins and outs of the universe, as much as any modern sci-fi enthusiast does, but I've always been a much, much bigger fan of "Star Wars" since I was a child.

That being said, 'Into Darkness' is truly amazing. Great effort that stayed true to the tone, spirit, and legacy of the material from which it's derived from. In an era where every medium of fiction is flooded with remakes, reboots, and retcons, this film - along with it's predecessor - stands out sharply amongst the population.

Rating: 4/4
