For Shame.

"New 52" is DC Comics' way of cutting off their nose to spite their face. No, their product isn't inherently dark or edgy; Yes, their characters are more inspirational than relatable; Yes, their traditional narrative goes against the grain of apathy - for the most part - when compared to their contemporaries: But that's the beauty of what DC Comics was before the needless reboot two years ago. At least, back then, it was true to itself.

The message of DC Comics was that there was hope for a brighter tomorrow, no matter how bad things got, as long as we were willing to fight for it in unity. But the message that it sends out now is one of opportunism, trendiness, self-hatred, and greed, perpetrated by none other than those notion's incarnates in the forms of Dan DiDio, Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, and Diane Nelson.
