And truth be told: Every time you reward the bad behavior of those who have ulterior motives and are without your best interest at heart, it disincentivizes those who would do right by you on the basis that the subliminal message you're sending out by your actions is that virtuosity and goodness aren't things you want or appreciate; Hence forcing good guys to adapt to the negative image you're attracted to and have constantly rewarded, simply for survival's sake.
