From the dusty Mesa....
....her looming shadow grows....
....hidden in the branches....
....of the poisoned creosote....
....she twines her spine up slowly....
....towards the boiling sun....
....and when I touched her skin....
....my fingers....
....ran with blood.
....ran with blood.
In the hushing dusk....
....under a swollen silver moon....
....I came walking with the wind....
....to watch the cactus bloom.
A strange hunger haunted me....
....the looming shadows danced....
....I fell down to the thorny brush....
....and felt a trembling hand.
When the last light warms the rocks....
....and the rattlesnakes unfold....
....(mountain cats will come....
....to drag away your bones)....
....and rise with me forever....
....across the silent sand....
....and the stars will be your eyes....
....and the wind will be my hands.
The Angry River: HERE
The emptiness that we confess....
....in the dimmest hour of day....
....in Automatown....
....they make a sound....
....they make a sound....
....like the low sad moan of prey....
....the bitter taste....
....the hidden face....
....of the lost forgotten child....
....the darkest need....
....the slowest speed....
....the debt unreconciled....
....these photographs mean nothing....
....to the poison that they take....
....before our moment's glory....
....the light begins to fade.
The awful cost....
....of all we'd lost....
....as we looked the other way....
....we've paid the price....
....for this cruel device....
....till we've nothing left to pay....
....the river goes where the current flows....
....the light we must destroy....
....events conspire....
....to set a fire....
....to set a fire....
....under the methods we employ....
....these dead men walk on water....
....cold blood runs through their veins....
....the angry river then rises....
....as we step into the rain.
These photographs mean nothing....
....to the poison that they take....
....the angry river rises....
....as we step into the rain.
