"The sky falls and you feel like it's a beautiful day!"-Bono
Yay!!! For the first time in their very long, extensive and impressive careers, U2 have come to my hometown to play at Fordham University. I feel great this morning and aalthough I wasn't able to see my all-time favorite band in the whole wide universe, I got to see them on tv.
I don't really like to see U2 live because it strips the personal essence away from me in some way; The massive crowds and big sets make me feel as if EVERYBODY is into the music and the band which to me makes the whole experience less personal. Still I'm like the happiest person in the world right now!
I get offended when I hear such negative things about my hometown especially when I get questions about the safety of where I come from or if the Bronx is made out to be a Hell of sorts. But today has kinda turned things on it's head in a way with U2 coming here to play. For once it feels like this place is getting some positive attention rather than the opposite.
I was never able to catch the band on tour but this time I'm hoping to finally surprise myself and be able to buy a ticket to a MSG (My stomping grounds) show sometime during this year.
Also, for those of you who havent seen the Watchmen yet unlike myself, the film debuts in theatres everywhere today. If you didn't get a chance to read my post (God exists....) the other day I'll just tell you all that the movie is truly astounding and I enjoyed it just as much as I enoyed The Dark Knight last summer.
Anyway.... I hope you guys all have a great day like I am.
