A Night with the Stripes.

"And I'm talking to myself all night because I can't forget, back and forth through my mind behind a cigarette."-Jack White

So! I went to my VERY first concert of my complicated life yesterday night and I have to say, although I'm not impressed very easily....The White Stripes kicked ass last night!

From the very beginning of the show, I was amazed at how much excitement there was in the air, I mean let's face it, 17,000 people whispering and talking might just give anybody the chills but as soon as the lights went out and the stage lit up brighter than a supernova, the screams were much more than amazing and the irreplaceable feeling that I felt as soon as the opening band began (Even though I wasn't into the genre of music that opened the show) was much more than overwhelming!

As for the second opening act, Grinderman, let's just say that I was so utterly blown away by the deep and dark songs that frontman, Nick Cave sang out and also how well the rest of the band played, especially on the song "Set me free"  that I actually bought their album today and it rocks!

After the second intermission....The White Stripes began.

Starting with their latest hit "Icky Thump," they just set the entire crowd into a much-more-than wild state!
As they progressed into the rest of the show by playing some of my favorite songs like "Take,Take,Take" and "In the Cold, Cold night" I actually asked myself if I was in some sort of dream or illusion since I was so astounded by their performances.

But it was when Jack jumped onto the massive background in the back of the stage and played "Stop breaking down" that I was in happiness beyond compare.

After about 45 minutes of straight-playing they took a break and had the crowd cheering for a encore.
Once again, after ten minutes or so, the duo ran back out and immediatley began to play "Seven Nation Army" which sent the crowd NUTS (And I mean NUTS!) making a group of security guards take a few fans out of the front row.

The second and most adrenalated song that was played during the encore was "My Doorbell" which amazed me EVEN MORE since, Jack played the song on the Electric Guitar instead of the Piano as he usually does.
It was a very sad-but-necessary point in the concert when it ended but hey, all great things must come to an end at some point....It's just a sad fact of life that i've learned on my journey, thus far!

In conclusion, I'll just say this: If I could live that night over again....I would do it in a second.

All in all, it was a VERY good night for both myelf, since this was my very first concert and also for The White Stripes since this was they're very first show at Madison Square Garden and It's also a exsperience that I'll NEVER-EVER-EVER forget!

P.S: MEG KICKS ASS ON THE DRUMS!!!!!!!!!!
