Looking beyond my own pain.

"It's not who you are underneath, It's what you DO that defines you."-Rachel Dawes (Batman Begins)

Alot has happened over the past few weeks since my last blog post....Some good, some bad. But for the realism in it all, life's getting a bit better but like always, there is a consequence.

I have so much to talk about, it's hard to even begin. I guess, I'll start from my mini-vacation and go from there.

A few weeks ago, to take some pressure off of myself and also as a little birthday gift for me, my Grandparents and Mom took me to the best place on Earth, Wildwood, NJ for a couple of days!

And although the bus ride(s) there were a fucking disgrace since the Passengers ahead of my Mom and I,  reclined their chairs all the way back onto our knees and refused to move up and oh yeah, a couple litterally carried out their need to have sex a few seats in front of me (Which wouldn't have been so bad if my
Mom wasn't sitting next to me!) on the second bus there. All in all, I ended up having a blast for the two days that I was able to!

A few days later, after my mini-vacation was over, I got a weird-but-thoughtful message from a random guy asking me if I was "the *same* DaiQuan that had a question answered by Neil Gaiman" on a video that I had submitted a question to about a month prior to the video's post....Ironically, I wouldn't have even known that my question had been answered if that guy didn't tell me about it.

Unfortunatley, the same day (Or next day to be technical) as that little piece of good fortune came my way, my brother woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me that my Mom had a stroke accross the hall at my Great-Grandmother's apartment.

Luckily, with her knowledge in the medical feild, my mom caught onto her body's dysfunction earlier on and took the entire thing into her own hands and tried her best to minimize on the damage to herself....which actually DID help judging from what the Doctor told me.

As the days since then have passed and my Mom's stay at Lincoln Hospital (WORST HOSPITAL EVER!) progressed, I've been their everyday, for ten hours straight trying to help her recover in any way that I possibly can.

Today, I once again had a fantastic time with my buddy, Jason at the movies (0: Superbad was hilarious! :0) and going Comic Book and *Cough* Maxim Magazine *Cough* hunting down in Times Square....I swear, I had a blast today!

And although I was supposed to use this day to take my mind off of the whole complexities of late, I couldn't help but to stop and give a homeless young couple $20 to help them out a bit....I was SOOOOO heartbroken when I saw them sitting there in old wretched clothes begging for anything that anyone could give them. (Good Work, America! You really don't give a shit about the little people who've fallen on hard times!)

Later on, during the train ride home, I couldn't help but to stop by the Hospital to see my Mom get transferred to a much, much, much better hospital in Manhattan where she will continue/officially start her physical rehabilitation (Judging from which point of view your looking through.) and now I'm here....at home....deep into my soul....once again.
