A Day With Padalecki.

"Everyday is a new adventure for those who know what to look for."-Chris Carter

So, this passed weekend was a great one. It brought on the ourth annual New York Comic-Con and a few great moments of my life.

Most notably was this past saturday in which I met one of my favorite actors, Jared Padalecki.

I started last saturday off like every other convention morning: at 5 AM.

I'd known for a couple of weeks before-hand that he was going to be attending the convention so I was all business and no play that morning. I got on the five train at 6 AM and got to the convention by 7 AM even though the Javits Center didn't open it's doors until 10:00 AM.

I passed the time from 7 to 10 AM reading the convention program and planning out the rest of the day in my head while listening to U2 and NIN.

Eventually, the convention started and I immediatley rushed to the area where Jared Padalecki was going to be signing later on during that day.

Once again, as I began my hours-upon-hours wait for the signing to begin, I continued to listen to my music while re-reading Killing Bono By Eric McCormick.

Eventually, I started talking with a fellow fan of Supernatural about the reasons why we believed the series was in the court of the very best of entertainment and television especially which lasted for a couple of hours and then slowly but gradually, the line behind myself grew so large that it stretched all the way around an entire convention aisle and was forced to be capped off at a impressive number of 278 people. Luckily, I was the seventh person on the line and out of the hundreds of Supernatural and Friday the 13th fans. The early bird gets the worm, I guess.

After standing on line for four hours, I finally got to meet the portrayor of one of my favorite fictional characters, Sam Winchester.

Jared was a nice guy from the start. Immediatley, he extended his hand to mine with a big smile on his face and a eagerness to break the convention's rules to take a picture with me and sign all three seasons of my Supernatural DVDs being that the people in charge of the autographing didn't want the crowd getting more than a single item signed or having their picture taken with him.

The meeting between him and I ended with him asking me who my favorite Supernatural character was and me replying "Sam".

I began to walk away after shaking his hand a last time when he playfully asked me who my second-favorite character of the show was and I answered him "Dean".

I began to pace away one again when he asked me who my third-favorite character was and I answered "Castiel".

By that time, I was wondering what the questions were for and then he laughingly explained to me that "That's Ackles' roster too!"

After that, he shook my hand once more and I told him that I loved the show and that it's my favorite series on television. He replied with a quick thank you before moving on to his next fan.

Afterwards, I made my way out of the convention center because of it's overwhelming poplation of thousands of fans which made it really impossible to move around on the show floor. Overall, I had a great time last saturday and it was definatley a great pleasure meeting Jared Padalecki.
