"With "Up is Down and Black is White," I was just trying to express myself with a story because of the message I had in my head."- Garth Ennis
It's been an amazing day so far! It was hectic this morning on my way to the Port Authority to meet my mom so we could catch our bus here, to Philadelphia. The day has been filled with unexspected surprises and bliss.
I have a feeling that this comic convention will be somethin to remember by the time I come back home this sunday.
I brought about a hundred books with me to get signed and luckily, I've gotten about, maybe, seventy of them signed in this first day alone. The same creators are here from last year and there aren't many new additions to the convention this year, and weirdly, there aren't any Marvel or DC booths here this year either but the atmosphere seems to be a bit more uplifting than the previous three years that I've attended this convention.
Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti have been nice to see once again, especially. Khoi Pham, Joe Benitez, and Peter Steigerwald are still the nice guys they've always been and for the first time, I got the chance to meet Billy Tucci, who was a bit hyper-but-kind all at once.
Most memorably, Garth Ennis and I had a long fifteen minute long discussion about what happens to be the both of our favorite shows, respectively: Supernatural!
Ennis and I talked about everything from Sam's maturity throughout the series to Dean's descent to Hell and how both of the characters have switched roles since the beginning of the series. It was pretty cool, definatley a moment I'll always remember!
The best part of the day, other than all of those things was buying an autographed Spider-Man photo signed by Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.
Man, I can't wait for tomorrow!
