Fight The Future.

"Never under-estimate the power of human stupidity." - Robert Heinlein

I've had a really pissy day. In short: Everyone around me are assholes.

First, I called the comic book retailer where I buy my monthly comics from every month, and just for monetary purposes, because I'm running a little low, I called the store and asked if they could check to see what the total sum for my books would cost so that I could get enough money to buy them tomorrow, and damn me for asking: the obnoxious bitch on the phone obviously felt that my request was stupid, so she abruptly hung the phone up on me right after rudely ranting at me about how "she didn't have time" to do what I was asking her to do.

Can you believe that shit? As if she's doing me a fucking favor!

Cosmic Comics (on 23rd Street in Manhattan) won't be getting any more of my business, that's for sure. I mean, what a bitch!

I always had a liking for that store up until now. It's just unfortunate that business nowadays could give a shit about the people who put money in their pockets. After all I've went through just to exclusively shop at their particular store is an insult to give me such an undeserving attitude.

I fucking HATE people like that! I just don't have the patience for it. It pisses me off. If fact, it ruined my whole day.

Things like that always ruin my day, because I try my best to be as polite as I possibly can to any and everyone around me and no matter what, I'm always pushed in the direction of such aggressive hostility. My politesse is always returned with a big "fuck you" straight to the face.

After that bullshit over the phone, my mom started pestering me over college again. According to her, I'm: "lazy", "annoying", "unmotivated", and "a waste of time" all because I don't want to jump straight into another four years of school.

I wish, at least, just one person out there would consider my feelings or point of view before judging me or wrongly getting so angry at me for no good reason.

Unfortunately, I've noticed quite a few people I've encountered on the outside and in, have become one in the same, in terms of their attitudes. Everyone seems to have become so wrapped up in their little worlds that nobody is able to see the world outside of themselves anymore. It's sad.

It's sad, and it's a cause for concern because we're going into a new decade, and these type of people are marching along with the few exceptional others who'd rather think before they speak, into the future - however bright or bleak that future may seem.

If people now, are going to be the people in the future in any way or form, then I really don't want to have anything to do with it, the future, that is.

If we're not going to learn how to be more patient with one another, regardless of what we're going through, then what is the point? The point of living? The point of evolving? The point of any of it?

Today, I've seen the worst of both, being a customer, and of being a son.

If people today are going to be the influence of people tomorrow, then I hope that the polite people of the world, today, can fight the future.

Fight the future for the better; for the generations to come....
