"When we long for a life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds, and diamonds are made under great pressure." - Peter Marshall
I often find myself thinking about trust. Someone once told me that one of my personal gifts (weaknesses) were Trust and Gullibility. I'd like to think that we live in a world where people can be trusted without any hesitation, but that's obviously not the truth. That's not the world we live in.
The world we live in is one where the most innocent-looking of women and men are the ones who're usually the most guilty; where the people we elect to political office are the ones who work against us the most.
I think about all of the people who I've trusted in the past, and how some of them let me down in ways to the point where I don't even have words to express myself. I think about these things and the only solution that I can think of is to trust no one. That way there's no chance of being hurt.
Just trust no one....
