Limping Aong.

"When one person dies, the whole world dies." - Jewish Proverb

Today would've been my great-grandmother's ninety-fifth birthday. It's a grounding thing to know that one day, I'll be gone just like her; we all will. I've been pondering all day about what her last moments were like through her eyes, what she was feeling when she died, and if she was at peace.

Of course, I'll never know the answers to my questions. But, then again, I can only HOPE to live as long as she did. And I can only hope, even further, that I might live even longer than she did. But on the other hand: The way I see it, though - I'm more afraid of life than I am of death. Life is the one, after all, that breaks us down before the end comes for us.

Life is the teeth, while death is merely the throat that swallows us.

I'm not a spiritual person, as everyone should know by now, but I can only wonder - along with the rest of the world - if there truly is another side to all of this.... a happier place.

Because if anyone deserved to be happy, it sure was my great-grandmother. I'm still missing her and her old Irish ways, I guess.

I'm just limping along without her....
