The Most Underrated U2 Song.

"Jesus, were you just around the corner? Did you think to try and warn her, or are you working on something new?" - Bono

It's probably THE most underrated U2 song ever produced, mostly because it had the misfortune of being placed on one of the band's lowest-performing (but, ironically, one of their most ingenious) albums to date. The song is "Wake Up, Dead Man" - it's a detailed description of the crisis Bono went through after he lost his faith in God for a period of time during the writing process of the "Pop" album, and what a crisis it must've been because the lyrics here are truly no-holds-barred.

Of course, Bono regained his faith during the production of their next album "All That You Can't Leave Behind," but even with all that being said: This is a really powerful and dark song, especially for U2....

"....and a fucked up world it is, too."
