"You can try but you'll never understand, this is something you will never understand."-Trent Reznor
As you all may know by now, I've got a problem called "Sleep Paralysis".
Basically, Sleep Paralysis is a problem with the brain's "R.E.M" (No, not the Band.)
R.E.M is a natural liquid produced by your body while your sleeping, in order for you not to act out what your dreaming during sleep, the liquid basically paralizes you.
Everyone has R.E.M....I just have too much!
Basically, the body knows when it is tired and as a result, it recharges by sleeping. If a person has had an active day or naturally has a active imagination, the imagination part of the brain simply won't or can't rest so that part of the brain will create a scenario just to keep you well, entertained, I guess you can say, while the rest of you will essentially sleep.
Think of R.E.M as a Orderly in a Insane Asylum....for your own protection, the Orderly might stop or restrain you from doing something dangerous. Except in my case, the Orderly restrains me for too long.
As a result, I sometimes wake up but I can't move....not even speak.
I've had this problem for about two and a half years now and no matter how frequently or unfrequently it may occur to me, the fear of the situation is always the same.
And trust me, you haven't felt fear until you've gotten this sensation.
I'm finally writing this blog because, I've recently woken up for three days in a row (Last Tuesday, Wednsday and Thursday) and I haven't been able to move right away.
So let me take you all through the four main causes of Sleep Paralysis first.

I'm finally writing this blog because, I've recently woken up for three days in a row (Last Tuesday, Wednsday and Thursday) and I haven't been able to move right away.
So let me take you all through the four main causes of Sleep Paralysis first.
1. STRESS! (School, Work, Family, etc.)
2. Bad Sleep patterns. (Lack of sleep, etc.)
3. Constant Arguing. (Teachers, Bosses, etc.)
4. Constant Worrying. (Deadlines, Homework, etc.)
I promise you, if you have alot of stuff to finish or if you have all four of those things going on at once....you'll probably start exsperiencing Sleep Paralysis sooner or later.
Now let me tell you all what it feels like.
1. You'll go to sleep.
2. You'll have a very active dream.
3. You'll wake up but won't be able to move.
4. You'll be so weak that you won't even be able to move your eyes or even be able to speak.
5. The fear will kick in after you notice that you can't move.
6. After you become overwhelmed by the lack of movement, you'll either go back to sleep or you'll be able to stay awoke. (Depending on how bad it is.)
7. You'll wake back up or regain strength after 30 or 40 minutes.
It's not a very nice feeling to have! Just imagine, not being able to move....not having any say in if you can move or not.
The Doctors say that a person with this problem usually grows out of it within a year or so but I'm living proof that they're full of shit just like most teachers. (Wow....that teachers part was random.)
Well, I hope this blog has enlightened you all about the little known sleep disorder, Sleep Paralysis and I hope none of you ever get it!
As for me, don't even worry about it! I'm fine, I really am and thanks for the 10 messages that some of you have sent over the past month asking about it....I'm fine!
