Touch Darkness.

I stand by and support "True Detective". I haven't seen a series open that strongly in a very long time, perhaps since "Game of Thrones".

It's an anthology and we may never see Detectives Hart and Cohle ever again but their story of dysfunctional brotherhood was one that needed to be told. And thanks to HBO, it got told in the golden era of Television that we're currently in the midst of.

On a side note, while I've always liked Woody Harrelson, I was never a fan of Matthew McConaughey with the exception of "Two for the Money" - mostly because I never liked his choice in film roles - but starting with his immensely superb acting in this series, I have to admit that he's one of my favorite actors now; 2014 is definitely the year of his comeback.

Anyway: The first story in the "True Detective" anthology? A+. Clever storytelling, deep characters, awesome acting.
