Beautiful Days: Vol.2

"And it’s you when I look in the mirror and it’s you when I don’t pick up the phone. Sometimes you can’t make it on your own."-Bono

I had a fantastic time yesterday. I went to see my dad.

Geez, he never changes. Still acts like my brother or vice-versa.

Finally, I got some support in my battle of TV shows too!

My dad, just like I and most of my friends except one, agrees that Supernatural kicks Angel’s ass ten to one.

But, I’m not gonna get sidetrack on this post so moving on....

When I’d gotten to my grandparents house to see my dad, nobody was there but I guess that’s the price of showing up unexspected.

While I waited for someone to come home, I started on my follow-up script to Journeyman on their porch steps. But unfortunatley, just like all of my other storylines, I can’t post them here due to theft but the story is looking pretty great so far.

As the day went on, I watched the mets and the yankees both get their asses kicked (Exspected much?), with my dad in his pretty cool apartment although it’s always a bit weird being in the suburban part of the Bronx. But it felt like old times. The times that have faded away and don’t come around much anymore.

It was pretty amazing to see him go nuts when the trailer to the upcoming, Speed Racer movie was presented on TNT yesterday night.

At some point, we’d gotten into a conversation about whether Godzilla was a guy or a girl and of course we both knew the answer, being the sci-fi geeks we are: It’s a girl!

He’s pretty hyper about the new Hulk movie that’s coming out in June although he can’t stand the previous one which came out in 2003. So typical.

On another note, I personally don’t see why everyone has a problem with the Daredevil movie as much as my father does but that’s just me. Just my opinion. I liked it and I still like it. (I mean, it wasn’t as horrible as Elektra or Ghost Rider was it? So jump off of the propaganda, people!)

All in all, my day with my dad was great especially since he was impressed by how much writing I’ve been able to do in such a small amount of time.

But the biggest surprise of all, my dad has been watching "John Adams" just like me for the past four weeks!
Man, I can’t wait until tonight’s episode!!!!! (Laura Linney reminds me so much of my mom, it’s not even funny.)

All in all, I had a long-awaited great and fun day with my dad. If I ever have kids, there’s no way I’d match up to my own dad. :)

When I got back home, boy did I party! My cousin came over, she ordered some food, we had a blast with my mom and my brother! We watched the Mummy and then X2 and lastly, the Terminator and then they ruined the flow with some bullshit, bootleg urban movie. Other than that, I just fell asleep watching
Supernatural and writing my follow-up to Journeyman.

Ha! I actually fell asleep with the pencil in my hand, just like in the movies. So much for folk-lore....!
